Jan Henk´s ``Green goes Green´´ birthday and ``publishing his second book´´ party

Jan Henk´s ``Green goes Green´´ birthday and ``publishing his second book´´ party

My husband has worked for many, many weekends for his second book ´recycling 2011´. So when the book published, exact date of  his birthday on last Friday,  me and my 10 years old doughter decided  to throw him a  party that would be worthy of all the hard work he's put into his book over the last couple of mounts. Actually party was not surprise, but he had no idea what we were prepared for him.

First we had to chose the theme, which was not that hard.
´Green goes green´

The book birthday cake, with the  recycling symbol on it, dedicated on
Jan Henk´s
second book 'Recycling 2011'.
His book published exact on his birthday as a coincidence...
Couple of weeks ago I found these Roman numbers in special pastry shop.

Insalata Caprese
Tomatoes and mozzarella with olive oil and of course green basil -- is gloriously simple, and delicious. Always a party favorite, I put together these caprese skewers using marinated mozzarella cheese, fresh basil sous and cherry tomatoes.

White and green chocolate bonbons
My daughter put these wind turbines together as a symbol of  sustainable energies. She made wind turbine field. I made the bonbons with  cake, mascarpone cheese and white chocolate, and a little green food color.

I have to put some anecdote here in Turkish for my Turkish friends, because it contains word joke, it can not tel in English.
Enerji Bakani `Yenilenebilir Enerji´sempozyumuna katilip anlatmaya baslamis, `Yenebilir enerji nedir, yedigimiz zaman enerji aldigimiz yiyecektir mesela findik yenebilir bir enerjidir´diye. Bkz. internet.

We used pastry sheets and little sausages for wind turbine pastries.
The party was a huge success. The guests all arrived on time.
My husband was completely taken by surprise. He loved the theme. Everything turned out great.

Champagne Mojito
Inspired by the classic mojito, subtle and elegant touches such as organic lemon and mint add a twist to this classic, and Champagne delivers a class of luxury, to ‘tasting the stars’.

I prepared long glasses with mint, lemon an a bit of sugar, than added chilled champagne.
