My Asian inspired birthday party

My Asian inspired birthday party

I decided to use red, white and gold color scheme.

Just couple of minutes before all the guests arrived.

I use the broken brunch of my orchid for the centerpieces.

I use Chinese money envelopes to lighten up the room.

Natural Sake cups
Sake, the Japanese wine made from fermented rice, is traditionally served warm in small ceramic cups.
For a different twist, I served it chilled in cool cucumber cups, added a cucumber swizzle stick, & sipped! All the guests loved them. They were cool, light, refreshing and pretty to look at.

Eatable Sake cocktails
For the most surprising presentation, I served Eatable Sake cocktailsThese sophisticated little “hip sips” can be eaten in one bite. They’re super-fun to pass at a party along with appetizers. I use votka, sake and eatable gold dust for the decoration. Actually they were supposed to be thicker and served on a cucumber but I was stil happy with the end result.

Shanghai Sunset, or Sunrise
I used child sake wine and dry champagne and lychee's for the cocktail. Although cocktails name was Shanghai Sunset, we had to add a new name.
Lychee's supposed to be at the bottom of the glass but somehow couple of them stayed at the surface, so we called them Shanghai Sunrise.

Cherry Blossom Cake
I wanted to continue same theme with my birthday cake so I decided to make cherry blossom cake. It took more time than I expected, but it became a star of the night. It is funny how people get excited with pretty looking sweet things.
